This residential design fulfilled two goals: meeting multicultural needs and filling a narrow urban lot. Aging-in-place principles were employed to accommodate the client's multigenerational family. Religious practices were supported through the creation of a flexible eating area that could also become a prayer space. The family's privacy was maintained by enclosing the yard and orienting the home to the side yard, thereby creating an outdoor living room for adults and a safe play space for children.
